Operation ID

What: Operation ID is a program which encourages students to record the serial numbers of their valuables on an inventory card. The card is given to a parent or friend for safe storage. The information will then be available in the event of a theft.

How: 1. Itemize your valuable property on the inventory card. Record the serial number and description. 2. Engrave your social security number or driver's license number on the property. 3. Put your inventory list in a secure spot.

Why: 1. Marked items are difficult to fence. 2. Your social security number or driver's license number proves you are the property's owner.
