About Me

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Missouri in 1995, I was hired by University City Police Department in 1997. I worked as a Police Cadet, prior to attending the Saint Louis County and Municipal Police Academy in January 1998. After 17 years at UCPD, I came to Wash U PD in 2014. I was promoted to a Sergeant in 2016, where I supervised patrol shifts, special events and investigations. I was recently promoted to Lieutenant. Working at Washington University St. Louis has been a great experience for me. I enjoy community-based policing and using WUSTL resources to help our students. I believe WUPD is a leader in campus policing! When not working I enjoy listening to music, photography, sports, and traveling. Favorite Quote by Jimi Hendrix: Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens.

How did you decide on your career?

It is my desire to make a positive difference and to provide support to those in need.  The opportunity to contribute to building strong community relationships and fostering trust, is a pivotal aspect that drew me to this profession.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Journalism was my favorite subject in high school. I truly enjoyed working on the school newspaper, year book, and developing film in the school’s darkroom.

What is your favorite thing about WashU?

It has been amazing learning all the resources, programs, and assistance Washington University offers. The collaboration amongst the various departments, is outstanding.

What police service would you want everyone to know about?

WUPD has a fully functioning Detective Bureau, self-defense instructors, and a Bicycle Response Team that patrols on and off campus.

What are you looking forward to the most for the 2023-2024 school year?

I am looking forward to seeing first year students begin this exciting, new chapter in their lives!
