About Me

I am excited to be part of the WashU Family! I served the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for 20 years and retired at the rank of Sergeant in 2022. I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Webster University. I spent the last year at an Investigative Intelligence firm before joining Washington University Police Department in January 2024. During my time with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, I had the privilege of leading a diverse career that gave me a strong background in Community Engagement, Operational Planning and Special Events Logistics, Investigation and Technology. I am eager to contribute to the ongoing mission at WUPD to serve and protect the students and community, provide excellent customer service, and a safe learning environment for all.

How did you decide on your career?

I worked at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for four years while attending college and preparing for a career as a Registered Nurse. I always knew I wanted a career where I would make a positive impact and help others. I took several Criminal Justice courses as electives and I could not put my textbooks down, as I found them so interesting. After September 11th, my desire to help others shifted in a different direction.  I applied for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and in less than a year, I graduated and became a Police Officer. This was a decision I have never regretted.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Science and Psychology have always been my favorite subjects in school. I have always loved learning all about the world around us and how people think.

What is your favorite thing about WashU?

Washington University is among the world’s leaders in education, and it shows. I love how diverse the campus is, including the students, faculty, and staff. It is a unique environment where everyone wants to learn and be supportive of each other and I am so excited to be a part of it.

What police service would you want everyone to know about?

WUPD excels in Community Engagement! From planning events on campus to helping students plan events, we want to be in on the fun, and help ensure your event is safe and successful.

What are you looking forward to most in the 2024-2025 school year?

I am looking forward to an exciting new school year engaging with the students, staff, and faculty in our WashU community. The energy on the South 40 so far this semester has been amazing and I wish everyone an awesome, successful school year!
