Neighborhood SeRVICES BUREAU

Washington University in St. Louis and the Washington University Police Department established the Neighborhood Services Bureau (NSB) to provide high-visibility night time security patrols to neighborhoods in which the university owns off-campus housing.

Through the use of these patrols, WUSTL intends to enhance safety and to assist in addressing student behavioral issues that may impact the quality of life for all residents of the area.

The Neighborhood Services Bureau is commanded by Lt. Gwen Patton and consists of seven WUPD police officers and five licensed security officers, supervised by two WUPD Corporals and two WUPD sergeants.  They patrol designated neighborhoods and high-traffic walkways.

The security officers patrol in distinctively marked vehicles and wear hunter green shirts and black pants.
