Specifics

Yesterday afternoon, WUPD responded to Beaumont House for a report of a person stealing a television from the laundry room. WUPD officers quickly located the person and recovered the television. The person was arrested and taken to the WUPD station. The person was released pending criminal charges.

Early this morning, WUPD officer responded to the Village area in response to a call of a suspicious person. WUPD officers located the same person from the day before as they were walking outside, near the Millbrook Apartments. The person informed officers that they had returned to retrieve a suitcase that they had left. Officers located the person’s suitcase and discovered property inside the bag that had been previously reported stolen. The person was arrested and taken to the WUPD station and then released pending criminal charges.

All recovered property was returned to the owners.


Suspect

The person is described as a black female; 23 years of age; medium build 5ft 2in tall and weighing 130 lbs; brown eyes and black braided hair; wearing black casual pants and a grey WU sweatshirt.

Precautions

Report suspicious persons or activity immediately to University Police at 5-5555 or go to the nearest emergency telephone.
LOCK YOUR ROOM or OFFICE DOOR whenever you leave, even if it’s for a short time.
Never leave your laptop, cell phone, purse, wallet, electronics or other valuables unattended or out of your line of site. Place valuables in a locked file cabinet or drawer.
Never prop open exterior doors. If you see a door propped, close it.
Don’t allow people you do not know to “tailgate” behind you into the building.
