6200 Enright
Overview Precautions

Specifics

At approximately 10:40 p.m., a student parked his car in the 6200 block of Enright Blvd., near The Lofts. As the student was sitting in the car, a subject walked up to the vehicle, displayed a handgun and told the student to exit his vehicle. The subject entered the vehicle and drove away, last seen heading east.
No injuries were reported.

Response

University City Police Department has reported that an arrest has been made in this incident but are continuing their investigation.

• Avoid walking or jogging alone and never walk or jog alone after dark.

Assault: Suspect Arrested
6600 blk Delmar

Specifics

​SUSPECT ARRESTED

At approximately 4:45 p.m., a student was sitting at an outside table at a restaurant in the 6600 block of Delmar Blvd. A subject approached the person and pushed and punched the student. The subject then struck another student with a hammer. Another person attempted to intervene and was also struck by the subject with a hammer.

The subject then left the restaurant, entered a vehicle and drove away. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Delmar. The vehicle is described as a black Jeep Patriot SUV bearing Missouri License plate BA9-K3A.

Suspect

The subject is described as a heavy-set black male wearing black shoes, black pants and a black Nike sweatshirt with grey sleeves and a large white Nike swoosh on the front. He was wearing a black backpack.

Response

The University City Police Department is investigating and asks anyone with information about the incident to call 314-725-2211 ext. 8010 or Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS.

Precautions

Trust your instincts. If you feel uneasy or sense something is wrong, call for assistance.

If you observe the vehicle, do not approach. Stay in a safe space and call 911 immediately.

Attempted Robbery

Specifics

​At approximately 11:15 p.m., WUPD officers and the University City Police responded to the 6300 block of McPherson in regards to an attempted armed robbery. A Washington University faculty member and his wife reported that they were walking on McPherson when a male subject walked past them, suddenly turned around and displayed a handgun. The subject demanded property from the victims. When the victims informed the subject they had no valuables, the subject ran from the area. No injuries were reported.

The University City Police Department is investigating.

Specifics

​At approximately 3:30 p.m., a subject forced open the rear door of an apartment where Washington University students reside in the 6000 block of Westminster Blvd. near the intersection of Rosedale Ave. The subject entered the apartment and immediately fled when he encountered a person inside the apartment. The incident was reported to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., a subject broke a window of a basement door of another apartment where students reside in the 6000 block of Westminster Blvd. The subject entered the unoccupied apartment and stole a small amount of money.

Response

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating.

Precautions

Report suspicious persons or activity immediately to police at 911 or go to the nearest emergency telephone.

LOCK YOUR APARTMENT DOOR, even when you are at home.

Lock the windows to your apartment. If you have a sliding glass door, secure it further by placing a piece of wood in the track to prevent it from opening.

Never prop open exterior doors or gates. If you see a door propped, close it.

Don’t allow people you do not know to “tailgate” behind you into the building.

When someone knocks at your door, don’t open it unless you know your visitor.

If you arrive home to find your door ajar, hear unusual sounds or believe your apartment has been broken into, DON’T GO IN! Immediately call the police.

When you are away from your residence, leave your interior lights on.
